As one ages, words start transforming. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.
One such word is appy (sorry, you'll have to think of this as an audio post to understand it.)
When you are in elementary school, epi refers to epi pens. The thing that saves the kids with the allergies.
When you're in high school, appys are short for applications, as in the things you've spent more time on than actually school work.
When you're in med school, appies are short for appendectomy (at least in Grey's med school anyways), as in the things you get tired of doing by the end of your residency.
