Of Music, and Computers, and Not So Much Art

Labor Day weekend was spent at Vegas. Had some good food, lost some money, gulped lots of second hand smoke. It was okay, but I've definitely had better times. Didn't see any shows this time, so that was part of the non-excitement. At least the air conditioning was nice. Home temperatures were about the same as Vegas temperatures, but we have electricity conservation warnings at home, so Vegas ended up feeling cooler.

Recently got a few more CDs:
Armchair Apocrypha by Andrew Bird
It's overall a very good CD, but since I've heard him live, there's a couple of songs on there that actually sound better live. It's kinda strange because most artists sound worse live.

The Crane Wife by the Decemberists
Every bit as good as I thought it was going to be. An enjoyable listen, soothing and sad and energetic enough for a long drive.

We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank by Modest Mouse
With Modest Mouse, there are songs I really like and some songs that take me a while to get used to. This can be said of this CD too. Still it's a good CD overall.

Many other CDs I've wanted to get, but these are it for now. Also got Wolves, the latest Fables volume. Really cute to see Bigby's and Snow's children all together. It's also good to see Bigby back.

Been in an art rut lately. Getting on the computer to play games and not to do art and just a few concept sketches for work. Holiday Market is coming up again though in November so maybe I can create a few things for that.
