(no subject)
I'm in the Amsterdam airport, half way to India, with multiple flights and wait times i won't be in Varanasi until 2 in the morning on wednesday (toronto time -- it'll be noonish in varanasi). this whole thing is still so surreal. the lead-up was crazy with all the goodbyes and packing and buying things last minute whiel working full time at my org's toronto office, so really anxiety over packing is all i've felt til now. I had some good goodbye times -- friday night out dancing with becca, saturday night date with mike that turned in to my surprise going away party at chuck e cheese (yes, actually!) followed by a bar and my first (really unfortunate) brush with karaeoke.
i only bought half an hour of internet time, so i'm going to see if i can get some fun photos from the last month up but might run out of time. in the meantime, i've made a blogspot blog for travel updates (though if you're on my email updates list it will be reduntant). www.emilindia.blogspot.com
saying goodbye at the airport was hard, but i know the real lonliness (especially from missing mike) won't come for a few weeks... in the mean time, i'm sure i'll have plenty of crazy to keep my mind occupied. i'll be in Delhi by tonight!
