It turns out I'm still a student. I didn't graduate at all. I didn't meet my American History and Institutions requirement.
This comes as a complete shock to me. Every schedule I had for the every quarter was checked and approved by my advisor except last quarter, when it was checked and approved by a different advisor. I was told I was doing fine. I should have checked with the CCS office to be sure.
I got an e-mail saying that "Wealth and Poverty in America, 1865-1850" didn't meet the requirement. It's going to be petitioned, but there's no guarantee it'll count. If it doesn't, I'll take a course here and transfer my units over to UCSB. If I take a course at UCSB I'll be able to sign up for Summer '08 candidacy. If I take it here, it could be a while longer because the units need to be transferred and processed.
I haven't removed grad candidacy yet. I'm still waiting to hear back from the CCS office.
So all my talk about how it's good to be done? Yeah, it was a pretty thought, but no. Still working on that degree...
EDIT:
Today's A Softer World comic.
Oh, A Softer World. Always so inappropriately appropriate >:-(.
