The woman beside him, trim and sober in a burgundy dress and hat, shows every sign of having been there for some time -- perhaps waiting for someone coming through.

She wasn't there about ten seconds ago.

He waves his hand in airy dismissal. "Fourth and a half, but who's counting."

(The half was a six-month-old kid.)

Breaking off a piece of his food, he slants a grin her way and offers it to her. "Pastry?"

She smiles under the black net veil of her hat, and takes the proffered sweet in delicate fingers. "Thank you."

Her gaze sweeps over the mass of humanity. "You really must be starved for entertainment, Loki."

Another thing he's got to admit? The look suits her.

...Then again, very few looks don't, in his completely unbiased opinion.

"Starved? Naah. I like it here." He puts his eyebrows up. "What's not to like?"
