Across the Universe
Tough call on this one.... I liked it? As an hommage to the Beatles, it's great. As a love story, it's okay. Visually, it's hit and miss. Some visual and editing choices are weird, if not bad, like mixing Helter Skelter with Across the Universe, or having Bono singing Walrus. The rest of the story is pretty much the Sixties for Dummies, vaguely exploring racism, war and homosexuality (Prudence stuck in the closet, really?)...
With anything else than the Beatles, Across the Universe would suck, but with Lennon and McCartney's songs, it's okay.
