well tonite was audrey's/deane's annual 4th of july party. it was a lot of fun...the whole fireworks scene anyway. towards 10 or so, deane rolls out this huge roll of 16,000 black cats that cost $90. i swear all these black cats tied together musta been at least 300 feet long. they claimed to keep going for 45 minutes, but it was only 9 minutes long; but that was the longest 9 minutes i've ever been through. ooooh jesus, they were so loud, even 30 feet away, you had to shout to your neighbor to be heard. then the mortars, oooh the mortars. someone had the great idea to put some ice on top of the mortar, so it'd blow up and send ice shrapnel everywhere...? i dunno, so this thing explodes and this huge chunk of ice hits the kid 3 feet away from me...so...yeah it wasn't a good idea. in total, we had enough fireworks to keep us going til all hours of the night and beyond. i swear that family must have spent at least $1,500 on fireworks, $200 of that on black cats alone. which...isn't totally a bad thing. well that was deane's party in a nutshell, so that was my 4th of july
