friday was BoB; it was ok, though it ended about 9...or so? the DJs and cintech kids were out by 10:15. oh FUCK what a stressful day. friday was also challenge day; we were given a problem to solve with meager resources. anyway, BoB was most definitely the highlight of the day, ignoring all the "bands" that tainted the show. saturday, i woke up bright and early to go get a new muffler installed, and now my baby purrs like a fucking mountain lion. later that day, i went to matt jackson's house with the intention of LANing and just chilling out. first things first though; i need to update my drivers. we get my display and motherboard drivers updated and all that jazz, and after we restart to get it all finalized, i encounter a rather major problem: random restarts. so matt and i fiddle around with my machine for a good 2 hours trying to figure out WHAT THE FUCK is going on. we decide that a format would be good for it and hopefully remedy the problem. as matt is reinstalling XP, i need to leave to get home. i leave my computer at his house to be fixed and i fall asleep with my room feeling a little bit empty. around 12 in the morning, i get a call from matt saying the format didn't fix the restarts. however, he did take out one of my 512 MB sticks of DDR 400 RAM out and the restarts stopped. about this time, i'm thinking holyfuckingshit, i'm down to 512 RAM. later, he conducts an "experiment" with my RAM and puts it in a different slot. no more restarts. at all. so we determine that it's probably a faulty slot in my motherboard, which scares me cause if i ever wanted to upgrade to a gig and a half of RAM, i'm s.o.l. so now i have my machine back home, with a full 32 GB of free space left, sans all previously installed games. oh well, it needed to be formatted anyway. matt also fixed my sound so i have real 5.1 surround and not this...mono-type sound coming from all speakers. well, seniors...4 weeks of school left. 4 weeks, and no more public school. just the thought of being on my own in college, with the thought of the safety net that is my parents about to disappear just freaks me out. (did that last sentence make sense?) anyway, i dunno if anyone else is scared, but i sure as hell am.
that is all
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
And their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World
Mad World
