I just spent 4+ hours editing, and only really did about forty minutes of usable work. For some reason unbeknownst to me, the footage from the stationary camera wants to render every time I try to do anything to it on the timeline. It shouldn't have to render unless I add transitions, or change the coloring or something, so I have no idea why it wants to do that. My other footage is fine, but I can't exactly intercut the footage from the two cameras if I have to render for an hour any time I do it. I'm using one audio track, and intercutting the video, so there's no way in hell I'll get everything in sync the first time. I'm not rendering each time I need to trim/move a clip one frame.
So, I have to re-capture all the footage from the second camera, which is totally doable. I would have set it to do that while we were at dinner, but the tape I had wouldn't work in my camera (hopefully the reason there's no timecode is that it just isn't compatible, not that this is a blank tape and the right tape is missing). The camera the footage was taken with belongs to my dad's co-worker, who is using it tomorrow. So, I wasn't able to get the video done today. I feel really bad, especially since I had more than a month to do it, and just didn't since I've been too tired to go over to Dad's office. If the computer was here, I'd have been done for weeks. This just means that I have to do it next week. Ugh.
On the plus side, I got a whole bunch of sleep last night, so yay to that at least. I was so tired that I fell asleep at my laptop again, and slept for eight hours in a really uncomfortable position. When I woke up, my laptop was closed and set on the floor next to my bed. Which is great, since that means I didn't knock it off the bed in my sleep or anything, but the problem with that is I have absolutely no memory of doing it. I've fallen asleep next to the laptop and woken up with it open next to me before, but I've never unplugged and closed it, and set it on the floor without remembering it before. Very weird.
