I passed my tests today, yay! Only two more to go, and then our training is basically over. We have to wait until December 2nd, but I'm confident that I'll be able to pass those without any trouble. I did well today; I was just nervous because of my shitty performance during the skill assessment on Monday. But what a load off my mind.
I wanted to come home and collapse after work, since I was drained after all that, but I had to go to my dad's office to edit. After a horrifying period of time where I thought all of my footage was gone and would have to be recaptured (it ended up being on the HD that Dad removed from the computer, grr), I worked on the video for a couple of hours. I captured all of the remaining footage, and everything is on the timeline, so I just have to go in and work on transitions and cleanup on Saturday. I shouldn't have any problem getting it done, and boy will I be glad to be done with it. The footage turned out alright, I just don't like the setup Dad has at his office (uncomfortable chair, crappy mouse). I'll be glad not to have to sit in there anymore. Plus, there was a draft blowing on me all evening, so I was chilly. Hopefully it will be warmer on Saturday. I did get Chinese food and a homemade cupcake for dinner, though, so that was awesome.
Now that I'm done with all of that for today, I'm definitely going to go to bed early tonight. I know I've been saying that every day for the past while, and then still ending up going to bed at 2AM or later, but today I mean it. I have to take a shower and stuff, but I am pretty much done for the evening. I am at the point where I just took a five minute nap right before I started this entry, so I can't envision myself staying up too much past midnight. I'd like to actually make it to work more than five minutes before 8AM. It's honestly a miracle that I've only been late one time so far, though (and that was due to being stuck behind a bus on the way from Dunkin' Donuts to work), but I've been cutting it close every day. Here's hoping I can change that for the last few weeks I'm on this schedule.
Aside from editing on Saturday, and a mass/reception thingy on Sunday (my dad's co-worker's son just got ordained and is giving his first mass then), I'm going to spend my weekend catching up on TV. Definitely getting to Supernatural first, since I've been hearing vague noises of awesomeness from my flist regarding the past few episodes. My goal is to be able to watch most things more or less live once they come back from the hiatus. I'll still use the DVR so I don't have to watch commercials (haaaate), but I'd like to be caught up on more than just seven shows.
Oh, and as a reminder, if you want a holiday card from me, the post is
here. And link me to your card and Holiday Wishlist entries, too. I don't think I'm going to do the wishlist thing this year, since my requests are liable to be things like more hours in the day for sleeping, or the ability to see my family on Christmas, or a freaking Fall Out Boy show that I can actually go to boys, seriously, but if I can fulfill anyone's requests, I will.
And that's all from me tonight. So glad this week is finally almost over!
