November 30th, baby! I can't believe I managed to post every day this month. Even those days I really didn't have anything to say. I don't know how
you all manage to do it all the time. As a reward to myself, I will probably not post tomorrow, unless of course I actually have something to post about.
For those of you who don't listen to phone posts, I mentioned in one of mine that my goal for next month is to post every other day. Well, it looks like we aren't going to have Internet access at Christmas, so I will probably amend that to trying to post 15/16 days out of 31 in December. I never managed to post most of the stuff I had written down to post this month, so I think this is an entirely manageable goal.

So, music! I was organizing my music a little bit the other day, pulling all of my holiday songs out of the regular folder and into the "Holiday Music" folder, since I hate accidentally running into a Christmas song in March, and I recently got a bunch of new ones. While doing this, I ran into a couple of songs that I really wanted to post. Or, really, I ran into one song, and realized that I had another great song to go with it. So, here you go:
Obadiah Parker - Hey Ya! [Outkast Cover, Acoustic] - I know absolutely nothing about this artist, other than what
Wikipedia says about them, and that they did an amazing job covering this song. It's one of those covers that is so different from the original that you almost forget that they're the same song. I mean, it's obviously the same song, but it's such a unique take on it. It's amazing how sad this song actually is when you listen to the lyrics. Even if you don't like the original, you should download this. It's absolutely amazing.
You can see a video of this performance on YouTube,
here.
The Vines - Miss Jackson [Outkast Cover] - This song is totally awesome. Once again, very different from the original.
And, as a bonus:
8mm - Nobody Does It Better - It's a cover of Carly Simon's James Bond Theme (to The Spy Who Loved Me), off of the Mr. & Mrs. Smith OST. I randomly decided to listen to it earlier, out of the bunch of new songs I have, and have pretty much been listening to it on repeat ever since. In the same vein as the original, but a little more melancholy. It makes an interesting duet. Thom Yorke of Radiohead says this is the sexiest song ever written. I don't know about that, but I can see why he might think that. The song is pretty awesome. Oh, hell, have
the original [WMA] too. And for completest's sake,
the live Radiohead version. Sadly, I don't know what song they performed after this, so I guess I'll never know what the second sexiest song ever written was. Oh well.
I'd better stop now before I find myself posting ten more songs. One of these will go to
beatstreets, I just can't decide which one.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, has been National Blog Posting Month for me. Thank you, and (most likely, unless something really interesting happens tonight) goodnight!
