Am on my break, and just had to post about the horrible customer I had this morning. Venting makes everything better, yo.
My first call of the day was from this woman who wanted to speak to a supervisor. Now, in our training, we were told to get as much info on people who asked for the supervisor as possible. That way we can tell them who to expect before they get a pissed off person in their ear. So, I ask the woman if I can help her. She tells me she wants a supervisor, so I ask her if I can have some info. She tells me that she's received a promo in the mail about friends and family getting some kind of discount through cardholders (or something). She says it's good for all day Sunday.
She then proceeds to complain about the fact that the sale is good for all day Sunday, and that JC Penney is usurping Sunday morning for shopping when people should be in church.
Okay, what the fuck?! Like JC Penney is against religion or something because they want the sale price available all day? Not every religion even has Sunday morning services (Judiaism, anyone?). Not to mention that not everyone goes to church (or is religious). And IMO, the sale being all day would be more convenient, so people could go any time that day. But no matter what I said, she wouldn't listen. Narrow minded bitch. I ended up having to give her the home office address, so she could write to the company president (she wouldn't accept me sending in her comments).
Thankfully most people were nice after that, so my day wasn't totally ruined. So, do you think she was being overly sensitive, or is it just me?
ETA: I forgot to mention this because I was in such a hurry to get back to work before my break was over and I was late, but when I told her I didn't know the name of the company president she was all "Well, then I'll call the store, they'll know." Um, no they won't dumbass. Just because someone works somewhere, it doesn't mean they know who owns the company. The only job I ever worked at where I knew who the CEO was was the Disney Store, for obvious reasons (once we were bought by Hoop Retail I went back to not knowing again). I tried to tell her they probably wouldn't know, and she goes "I'll find out. I've gotten names of company presidents before." Ooh, I'm shaking, I'm shaking. As if this is some major feat or something. Plus, with that remark, you can tell she complains a lot.
Plus, everyone I told at work thought she was a moron, so we got a good laugh out of it.
