Woohoo, DVDs!

Jun 03, 2004 13:42

I am so excited about this. I have been patiently waiting for years for a Special Edition of Trainspotting to come out on DVD, refusing to buy the expensive, featureless version. I knew that Criterion had done a SE LaserDisc, but the only DVD was the crappy version with just the trailer. But today, I finally get to have an awesome feature-packed 2 disc set! International version! Deleted scenes! Heaven, I tell you.

It makes me want to get out the novel and read it again. And I totally would, if I didn't have seven thousand homework assignments and wasn't already reading The Ring, by Koji Suzuki, which is fantastic so far (atmospheric as all hell, especially since the movie scared the shit out of me). Also, the fact that my copy of Trainspotting is about two hours away from here.

So, after class is over, it's off to Best Buy to secure myself a long-awaited copy of Trainspotting on DVD. Now all I need is for them to make Porno into a movie, and I can die happy. The timing is right, too.

Oh, and something interesting I noticed a while ago when I was fiddling with my userinfo page: Yesterday's entry was my 100th. Which is pretty cool. Although I have had this journal for almost two years, so it's not like it's a record or anything. But I'd call it a milestone (or something). And to honor it, I've decided to engage in the time honored procrastination technique of doing old memes.

Meme #1
Gacked from absolutely everyone.
1) Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says:
"Heart attack." (the aforementioned The Ring)

2) Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?
Nothing.

3) What is the last thing you watched on TV?
Tuesday's episode of Days of Our Lives. Damn that show is funny.

4) WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what time it is?
1:00PM

5) Now look at the clock, what is the actual time?
12:56PM

6) With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
Nothing, just "Millennium" by Robbie Williams on my stereo.

7) When did you last step outside? What were you doing?
I was outside yesterday, coming back from picking up food.

8) Before you came to this website, what did you look at?
Compulsively checked my e-mail 9 billion times. Rewatched this week's Strong Bad E-Mail.

9) What are you wearing?
Jeans, maroon colored long sleeved tee. No shoes.

10) Did you dream last night?
I feel like I did, but I can't remember what it was about.

11) When did you last laugh?
Earlier today, reading fic.

12) What is on the walls of the room you are in?
Boring white paint. Various posters (Fight Club, Gashlycrumb Tinies, Aaliyah, Linkin Park), big calendar, HP "It's Evil Time!" clock.

13) Seen anything weird lately?
Aside from Days of Our Lives? Not much.

14) What do you think of this quiz?
Well, if I thought it was stupid, I wouldn't have dug it up and filled it out, now would I?

15) What is the last film you saw?
Good question. Um, probably Back to the Future 2 on DVD, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind in the theater. Seeing PoA tomorrow!

16) If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?
I'd buy myself a Mini Cooper and pay to have all necessary repairs done on my parents' house (plus landscaping for their yard).

17) Tell me something about you that I don't know
Hmm...I am obsessed with buying shoes. I buy them even when I don't need them because they are pretty. Especially shoes from Steve Madden. It's like crack.

18) If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?
Legalize gay marriage.

19) Do you like to dance?
I love to dance. I took tap lessons for 13 years, and I wish I still took them. I would love to learn how to Salsa.

20) George Bush: is he a power-crazy nutcase or some one who is finally doing something that has needed to be done for years?
Nutcase. If he gets re-elected, I am strongly considering moving out of the country.

21)
a. Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
Don't know. Possibly Fay (Mom's middle name).

b. Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?
I'd say James after my father, but there are already tons of James's in my family, so I don't know.

22) Would you ever consider living abroad?
Oh yeah. I'd love to live in London.

Yes, I grew up during the late 80's, early/mid 90's. All this meme proves is that I watched entirely too much TV. Although, some of the things in that list were clearly not from the 90's, or even the 80's. I mean, Easybake Oven? Barbie?! Come on!

Well, that was fun. Now it's time to get ready for English class. Maybe I'll try tackling that gigantic book meme that's been going around when I get back. Or, I'll just slack off and watch Trainspotting, whatever.
