After almost a week sans computer (including two strenuous days of playing catch up with the friends list--not much headway), I'm finally back! Such a relief. I may be gone until Tuesday again, but for now, I'm here.
The only problem is, I can't think of anything to write about. I keep logging on and staring at the 'Update Journal' page, but nothing gets written. I'm having a great time over here and all, but am never near the computer when all the LJ-worthy things happen. Like a week ago, I was talking to my roommate (A) about the fact that the new HP book comes out in June. And we have the following exchange:
A: That's so cool. I can't wait.
Me: Me neither.
A: I want Harry to hook up with Ginny.
Me: *stares*
A: Ginny Weasley.
Me: Uh...
Me: *dies*
At that moment, I realized the fundamental difference between A and me. A is an H/G shipper. I'm (as canonically impossible as it may be) an H/D shipper. Couldn't be more different. I can't tell you how hard it was for me to not burst out laughing. She would have totally taken that the wrong way though. Must endeavor not to get on her bad side. It wouldn't do for us to hate each other two weeks into the semester.
There have been other interesting incidents, like last night, we had a party for J (girl who lives downstairs) and D (guy--roommate). It is both of their birthdays today. It was fun, although I kept hearing rumors that the neighbors had called the police (no one turned up complaining, though), and J got ridiculously wasted and threw up...on my floor! Thankfully, someone cleaned it up, since I would have probably thrown up as well (vomit doesn't really sit well with me). M (the girl who saved my floor) is now my new best friend. I swear, she is seriously one of the nicest people ever. I can't imagine doing that for someone. And A felt seriously guilty for not cleaning it up.
Aside from that fiasco, it was a pretty great party, though I really felt bad for the woman who cleans our flat every day (M-Th). We picked up stuff, but no actual cleaning occurred. I'm so glad we didn't have to clean, since I don't think anyone would have actually done it. Considering, someone went into my cabinet and stole my (unopened) cookies, I wouldn't expect anyone to do anything nice.
Well, better go home and have dinner. Maybe the dishes will actually be done. Hah.
