This is the route we took from 29th Oct 2006 to 4th Nov 2006. Mostly covering south Karnataka and west Karnataka.

Started from
manjlanata house at around 5:45 in the morning.
Bags , Map of Karnataka , Fuel for the bikes , all check .
manjlanata's mom doing pooja to the bike for our safe journey for the next 8 days.
For the next 8 days it just the bikes , us and the road. No Outlook for the next 8 days, no gmail, no formal shoes, no bus, no Fm 91, no work.
At around 6:00 am we left Bangalore and headed towards Mysore, the road was nice, more importantly the weather was awesome.
Our first stop was at madur for breakfast , had Madur vada for breakfast and headed towards srirangapatna. just before entering srirangapatna towards the left we visited "Aale mane" jaggery factory.
The Sugarcane juice is boiled in such huge containers for 2 hrs and are poured into the mold which after cooling becomes the jaggery we know.
the Sugar cane is crushed to get the juice, the juice flows through the pipe to the large containers then the cooled liquid is poured in the mold
after a while this becomes jaggery
apparently this is one of the industry where there is no waste products produced. The pulp left after removing the juice of sugarcane is used as firewood to boil the sugarcane juice.
After visiting the Aale mane, we headed towards ranganatitu
bought carrots for our travel in the market.
This is not the right time to visit rangantitu , hence we could see only few ( to be precise 4) species of birds.
And there are about 15 crocodiles
.
Later we headed to Byalkuppe, Tibetian Refugees rehabilitation scheme. The monastery is about 7 years old and has a Buddha statue which is about 60 feet.
Then our journey continues towards madikeri , and our day ends by spending the evening in place called Raja seat.
Day 2

On the way to darmastala we have a near death experience, our tube burst. The bike wobbled and fortunately we were going at lower speed and
manjlanata was able to stop the bike. The flat tire
the bike after the tire was removed for puncture
.
The road from Kukke towards Bangalore is bad
so if you can avoid it please do so. But unfortunately there are no other roads.
We came to the Mangalore - Bangalore high way and took a deviation to darmastala. I must say the road is awesome. It was about 5:00 in the evening and the weather was perfect.
