This is fascinating and intense and I just *stumbled* upon it somehow or other, linked in a community I think.

I find myself reading with almost a wince of anticipation as I wait to find out what happened to Rodney's team and Rodney himself. And, after that last paragraph, John. Oh Simpson, oh Miko, oh Radek!!! *eep*

The interlacing of events between the flashbacks on/at/in Ava City and the present-day in Vancouver, where Jeannie and her family don't know what's happened (even less than we the readers know what's happened) has the backstory unfolding at a well-balanced pace between the flashback events and the reveals of Rodney's PTSD. I can't help thinking that someone somewhere (Keller? Carter? other?) was very wise in knowing that preventing John from helping Rodney through this would damage John as much as the actual events have hurt Rodney.

I'm settled in now to patiently await the next installment....
