8 years ago on this fateful day I decided to give blogging a shot. What followed was a roller coaster ride of experiences & ideas. Now, after over a thousand posts and after somehow managing to keep the fire burning this long, its almost ironic that I cant even remember why I started it in the first place.

How do you quantify a year? What made a set of 365 (or 366) consecutive days better than the previous set? Was it making more money? Was it increasing your count of material possessions? Was it traveling more? Was it being entertained more? Was it more drinks/dinners with friends/family? Was it finding/losing someone you care about?

What can I tell you about that feeling… That feeling when you are around, when time just stops and every heartbeat is accounted for. Last week marked the seventh anniversary of this blog. During these seven years I have written around 1200 posts in almost 50 categories and received close to 1200 comments. Pages of this blog have been loaded almost 200,000 times; with over to 40,000 in just the last year!

I write because…. when the ink scars the virgin paper, it leaves in a mark proclaiming my existence. A mark that wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for me.
