Help me help the community. =)

Yes, that's me when I bowl.

Coming up in a few weeks, I am going to be bowling at a local alley to help raise money for some programs that the Asian Pacific Coalition helps put on. These two programs are:

Asian-Pacific Islander Graduation (APIG)- It serves to collectively celebrate a momentous occasion as well as recognize the contributions that the API community has made to the UCLA campus. We are able to acknowledge graduates as an individual taking part of a process rooted in rich culture, deep hertiage, and family presence and support.

and

Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM)- This program gives students on campus a taste of many different API cultures. It is an annual community festival which gives an opportunity for different API groups to express their unique backgrounds, arts, histories, and cultures through cultural performances, spoken word, music, and more. I believe this is important because I feel we are often too caught up in our academics and college in general to remember our roots. This event will be highly accessible and most importantly, free. Not only that, I find that we aren't too aware of the traditions and culture of other groups. Why is this important? Well, I honestly believe that the first step to easing problems with prejudice, racism and stereotypes, is through education. As obvious as this may sound, it's one thing to say education can help, but it's completely different when a group has taken the initiative to actually plan an event that can achieve this goal in a fun and entertaining way.

SO, what I am asking of all of you, my friends, is to sponsor me for this event. You can do this by either donating money per pin I will knock down (ie 10 cents a pin) or just donating a flat rate (ie $2)

Look...I don't usually ask anyone for money, but I really do believe this is for a good cause. Anything will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys =)
