Political Correctness, Spotty Kids and a list of Uns
OK I've managed to sit down to write a blog, I'm sorry I failed to post last week on Live journal, last weekend mantaining a connection was bit ropey. As I'd used up one hell of a lot of band width listening to online radio.
I'll skip past the warble about being tired. Its winter so that's what I should expect, just as plenty of other people do. So what of this week? Well in the space of few days I found my self in trouble with Popeth Cymraeg, a Head master and being lectured by the old bill. Why because during a welsh class a few weeks ago we were talking about what we wear. As I was in my work clothes I explained that I wear a Letherman multitool on my hip. When I showed it it must have freaked some one out, On Tuesday I had letter stating that I was wearing a sheath knife in welsh class. I phoned up the class organisers to explain what it was, then on Wednesday the head master of the school where the evening classes are held took me to one side and asked me to explain my self then. On Thursday a local police officer paid me a visit. I wasn't formally cautioned or any thing like that by the conversation was placed on record. I told him that they would have little trouble finding my files if they looked me up under traffic offences.
I know that in the UK we are currently suffering from a knife crime, but give me a bloody break I'm 40 grey and poke around machines. I'm not some young punk, maybe I should become an old one.
As for other things. My balls have remained unkicked, my Sea Harrier unfinished and my office untidy. On Thursday I had to take my kids to Wargames club as the missus was having some or other church related evening out. I wound up a bit in the dog house, (are you detecting a theme for the week here?), because I didn't get home with the kids till after 10pm. Work was sandwiched between doctors appointments for the kids. In the second one I had to collect the youngest from school around 1pm as she had come up with a rash. When I got there the rash had died down, but they still worried she might spread some thing. I managed to get a doctors appointment for around 3 and was issued a “this kid is not infectious” note, she was back in school on Friday morning.
Work has been case of being in the way of shit rolling down hill. Process trials have not being going as well as I would have hoped, so we have lowered the initial targets on equipment performance, just so we can get it out onto the shop floor as soon as possible. The final 10 or 20% I'll try to achieve over the next few months.
On he temper front thing have been better but I did lose my rag with the youngest yesterday when she refused to tidy up her room. I really wish I could have got her to do the eventually decent job she did without all the unpleasantness. While I was keeping an eye on her I managed to bag up 10 carrier bags of surplus clothes. Mostly stuff the kids have grown out off. This did also massively reduce the size of a laundry pile that had straddled a landing and been spilling into the bathroom.
That pretty much summaries the week. I've kept this blog to one hour or there abouts. So till next week I'll wish you all where ever you may be across nation, ocean and ether a safe sane week.

The Discipline of Blogging
I cant deny that these past couple of weeks I've not found it easy to get on with writing or reading blogs, I must admit I've not been too keen on socialising much on or off line. Just want to keep my head down and get through each week. So first off all I'll apologise, especially to Fran. I don't mean to be a stranger so please be patient.
Home Front
Well for the most part I've certainly been a fair bit calmer and haven't lost my rag so badly for quite a while. The knock on has been that I've also been far more subdued, I can let things wash over me most of the time. On the other hand its been not been easy for my youngest. On Tuesday I had to take her to the docs on account of excesma that had gone wild and left her coved on sores like blistered burns all over her body. The prescription was a carrier bag full of medications and creams and tubigrip garments. She was back in school on Wednesday but none too comfortable. It has improved by the weekend but she's still quite spotty, if a bit less itchy.
Last weekend I spent most of Sunday helping the eldest with her home work. She had failed to do it over the half term holiday, so I keep the pressure up. She had to research and write about five Victorian toys. I won't let her just copy and post from the net, so I made sure she did the research then summarise the info and write it up in Welsh.
There was no welsh evening class during half term but I was back with my folder last Wednesday evening. However I was bloody furious (yet controlled) when I found that the missus had give the youngest my note book for writing paper. I reclaimed it and tore out the kid's scrawling. Last weekend I also replaced the syphon mechanism and ball cock on the upstairs toilet. Thing is the damn thing was so damn noisy that it kept me awake. I had to bend the arm to ensure it shut off earlier but now there is barely enough water in the cistern to get a decent flush. Some thing else that left me lass than flushed with pleasure was the wife insistence that the kids were booked into the holiday club for 2 days over half term, as it was the youngest excesma kept her away. Then I was expected to still pay for both kids. I refused and only paid or the eldest but still seemed a bit daft.
Wargames has also been quiet of late, had small 16thC Samurai game Thursdayy before last, but this Thursday I focused on admin, accounts and planning, the rain put paid to bon fire night, we'dnormallyy go to the municipal display on the common.
The highlight of this weekend was going to the IPMS Scale Model show at Telford on Saturday. 5 hours of wandering around 3 large halls, looking at models of pretty much every imaginable aircraft and armoured vehicle plus quite a few unimaginable ones and other things. My own kit back log has grown a bit, but only by 2. Spent way too much time working on am sea harrier last weekend, then had a damn night mare with the finish of the white underside.
Work Front
On the work front its been a steady mix of triumph delays and head banging frustration. Insanely busy with people yelling for progress and results, while I pass the pressure to suppliers. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow when I have to explain that another trial did not go well. I've got 2 weeks to get the supplied tools modified and retested to keep on track.
The Rest
I wish there was more to say, but, there been bugger all passion and bugger all to stir passion of any sort. Looks like mediocrity has swallowed me up.
To all my friends across nation ocean and ether, take care and have safe, sane week.
