First Week - But What Are The Omens?

First blog of the year, I suppose it goes with out saying the wether has pretty much dominated things. Yes its been bloomin freezing ok that bit is covered onto the real stuff. As I writ this blog for some damn reason the spell check function has gone tits up in Open Office, so it isn't detecting any thing or even running a check when asked. I don't know why this has happened but for some one like me its a real pain in the backside to say the least. I've just updated to 3.1 and the spell check is still messed up.

Monday and Tuesday were inset days so I was home with the kids, we spent Monday at home, the kids ran riot a bit and kept my head down, kept out of the way, sorted laundry and that was pretty much it. Appart from the kick boxing when I realised that not training for a month can have very painful consequences. I was old and slow and oh boy did it show, it was ment to be light sparring but I could not get out of the way quick enough. I won't deny that I was not at my most active over Christmas. At least when I'm back in my work routine my diet improves substantially, like wise one of the precularities of my office and factory is the amount of stairs an engineer has to negociate to get any where.

Tuesday the youngest was back in school, but the eldest was still off. It was totaly out of the blue when the police phoned me at around 10am, it appears that the last time I had filled up with petrol on the 22nd, I had driven off and gone through the car wash with out paying for the fuel. The copper did say that most people who fill nad run don't go through the car wash on their way out. So he guessed it was probably an honest mistake, needless to say the garage was my first point of call. After that I took the eldest round Cheshire Oaks shopping village, to be honest I found it pretty booring. we then did a light ASDA shop.

The schools were all closed on Wednesday as was the wife so I was bale to get into work. We have new boss tsrting so much of the week was focused on getting back into the swing of things and deciding how I was going to deal with the new face. I already knw the lad, he's another golden boy but pleasant enough. Hopefully the coming week will see the pace pick up a bit. Due to the weather there was no Welsh class on Wedneday night.

The wargames club was mostly admin for me, but I have a game of Warhammer lined up for next week. Friday after work, I took some time to check the prices on a new oven as our old one conked out in early December. I'll be ordering one next week.

Another expense will be a speeding fine, I was caught by a mobile speed camera in mid December on the way in to work, so that will be 3 points and £60.

On Saturday I turned 41, the missus let me have most of the day to my self so I went for a rummage round Chester, I picked up a couple of figures from Gmaes Workshop, a book on Napoleonic tactics and couple of games for my PC namely Civilisation IV and Bus Simulator. The kids gave me a note book and DVD of James May's Toy Storys. The missus went out on Saturday night, so it was all pretty quiet there.

On a more personal front, I can't deny that I often stuggle to think any thing posistve about my youngest kid, so this week, I've tried bit by bit to be less critcal of her and to tyr and spend a bit more time with her, simply valuing her company. I realise that this won't always be easy. But I feel its the next step beyond better managing my temper. For the most part I've been more laid back, but I still prefer my own company at home.

Well thats the first blog of 010. Hopefully I wont be hereing much more from the old bill this year.

To all my friends across nation ocean and ether, have a safe, sane and peaceful week.
