Eh, well, Koganei is approaching 1000 anyway...

The Issues are village politics. It kind of works like this.

Itachi "betrayed" the village they're all from by killing all of his family except Sasuke and then running off to join Akatuski. Sasuke wanted revenge, and when he didn't feel like he could be powerful enough, he ran away from Konoha to get power elsewhere. Neji had thought of Itachi as an enemy and gotten over that over the months together at camp. Then it comes out that Itachi never betrayed Konoha as such--in Camp, that was a little weird but Neji adjusted to it, and kind of felt better about making out with him and stuff. But in canon, the revelation that Itachi had killed his family on the village's orders, because the Uchiha were planning a coup, and because he wanted to avoid the war that would cause. It was, in Narutoverse, sort of heroic even--and it meant that Sasuke went from just having run away from Konoha, to openly declaring war on the village.

Neji, along with Shikamaru and a number of other young ninja from Konoha, came to the conclusion that it was their job (as a village) to kill Sasuke, because he was their problem.

Itachi found out about that (Neji admitted it to him), and sort of shut down and withdrew from Neji because he was OMG a threat to his precious little brother. Neji was hurt by that because he's made it very clear that he has no intention of acting in any way on that resolution in camp, and he feels like when their original situation is reversed--where Itachi views Neji as a potential threat, rather than the other way around--Itachi isn't affording him the same chance than Neji gave him. Which makes him very :(

What's more, Itachi is stressed about Sasuke declaring war on Konoha, and allying himself with a guy who pretty much wants to make war on the whole world, and stands for everything Itachi was revealed not to, etc, etc. So he wants to be close to him. He's staying there now.

...If you can make sense out of that, seriously, more power to you. That's the clearest I can explain it off the top of my head. x_x

Are there any particular characters or casts you stalk in camp?

...I... yeah, not completely XD

I AM TERRIBLE AT STALKING THREADS, but I read everything people post to the network whether I know the characters or not. Ummmm... recently I've been stalking the Pandora Hearts cast because I'm playing a lot with Oz and Elliot, I always watch the Loveless cast, I think Sheldon is hilarious, I love our Kida, Ned from Pushing Dasies, the Bakemonogatari kids, Dug, Fuuma and Kamui (both pairs).... I'm forgetting people and I feel bad about it. It really all depends on who I manage to find on a given day ._.

XD

Okay, basically Sasuke has declared war on his home village, and so things upgraded from tense/deserter to outright enemy. Itachi wants peace and values Konoha, but Sasuke is his first priority, so being around Neji and Shikamaru both made him very uncomfortable when he found out they'd agreed that they needed to deal with Sasuke as a threat in Naruto canon.

I am also pretty fail at stalking, so I am definitely not one to judge. XD

F-Fuuu I forgot to ask a question. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT HAVING KEPT NEJI SO LONG?

It depends! A lot of of the time I don't really think about it. I sort of forget that he's one of the longest running characters still in camp, or that camp wasn't that old when he joined. A lot of the time it feels like a lot of people have been here longer! But then when I do think about it, it's kinda weird.

I realize it most when I don't feel like I'm playing him enough, or it doesn't seem like he has enough relationships, and I wonder if people are sick of him or if it just seems like I'm squatting on him, and then I fuss. But his activity level has been pretty comfortable this year, so it's not as much of an issue as it was last summer. Though I still wonder if people are sick of him sometimes.

Which of your characters would be hardest to drop?

I don't think it feels like that at all. ....I hope not, because I've kept almost all of my original five. And on that note, it's probably still Rikuou.

Anything you miss about early camp, when you do think about it?

I somehow thought it would be him. XD

You know what I miss most? Being able to vote on apps and find them fresh and original. That is probably incredibly strange, but it's like it got to the point for a while where it just felt unfair for me to vote. There was barely anything I'd want to vote in, because I was so used to the formula, and the jokes, and what have you, that I couldn't get into it. I let myself slack off on that a loooot last year, though, and that helped, and I think Camp relocating has helped some too for the last round.

Still, I kind of miss how that felt. The same sort of thing applies to camp itself, to a lesser extent. I still have fun with it, but it's very rare that there's an event or post or whatever that's as shiny and exciting as things used to be.

How about you?

BELATED BUT I DOING ANOTHER ROUND TO FINISH ANSWERING THINGS. I think that's true, the newness factor is gone, but I focus on relationships rather than plots events or themes and get along o/

What I miss most is plain and simple the size of the thing. When I got to camp it felt as though everybody was following everybody. We had players getting into new fandoms left and right and factions of cross-canon/crack shippers, people's characters inserting themselves into the plots and lives of characters they'd enjoyed stalking just because, real audience participation... Some players still manage do this to a far greater extent than I, but as a community I think that vibe would be impossible to recreate that now.
