The name remains. It's mine, and I'm not letting it go. LJ will probably never purge usernames - they've only been swearing to do so since, what, 2003? And they haven't yet. But I'm not taking that chance.
Even so, I am no longer bound and constrained by this identity. It is no longer me, and while I cherish it, and the memories both good and bad that it entails, I refuse to be bound by it.
I am not this person any longer.
I wish you joy, I wish you hope, I wish you peace. I wish for you all the things that I would wish for myself.
