Life is much better after my terrible Tuesday. I'll meet with IKEA officers tomorrow for the part-time job paperwork. Yay, I am hired for the summer!
Then I will go to my grandparent's house down in San Jose for the weekend to work on my orchestra piece (more quiet there), and my airport project hunting with Mike the bassoonist. I'm planning to build the airpot on top of the piano. The airport name is Five Strings Capital International Airport (FSC). Due to space limitation, there will be 35 gateways and a 1/4 runway for now. I don't think I will have time to put in lights. I wish it has 5 runways, 120+ gateways, 3 huge terminals, cargo facilities, maintaince hangars, fuel tanks, food service, parking lots, etc. But those can stay in my mind, hehe. It will be the hub for Cathay Pacific, Singapore, United (even though I hate them), Austrian, and American.
As for my orchestra piece, I have the intro and the middle section ready. The intro is dual specifically for my 2 oboe friends. I will give them to review the main melody tonight. The whole piece will be short, easy, ABA form and a bit romantic+cheesy for the time being. I will work out the details for the A section this weekend. I'm planning to incorporate some Cantonese linguistics concepts into the A section, hopefully it will work. The planned call is 0-1 timpani, 0-1 trumpet, 1 tuba, 1 horn, 1-2 flutes, 2 oboes, 1 clarinet, 1 bassoon, and full strings. And I will put "Channelan" as the composer instead of my name, how's that?
