12am is just the right time each day for me to reflect my life and
write a journal entry before I go to bed, which usually ends up at
2-3am these days.
I've watched about 5 movies thus far this week: The Terminal (2004), Garden State (2004), 8 Mile (2002), Better Than Chocolate (1999), Star Wars IV ANH for the first time after III's release and a bit of Fantasia 2000 (2000) when I was inside the fMRI machine.
I think The Terminal is a
so-so movie, the fact that it messes up the whole
stuck-in-the-International-area plot really throws me out. It's quite
annoying to see Tom Hanks sleeps next to a terminal gate and walks out
to the open in the next scene without explainging how does he get out
his suppose-to be area without his passport and boarding pass.
Garden State is amazingly great, and I can't have enough Portman after Closer. The chemistry between Braff and Portman is naturally perfect.
8 Mile is a great movie with
its blasting, wonderful and meaningful music along the streets of
Detorit. It reminds me of the ghetto areas a few streets away from my
house (I'd say the '8 Mile' around Oakland), the ghetto area in West
Oakland and the factory areas in NYC.
At this time I want to write
more, but I'm falling asleep. So I'll just sum up the rest quick before
I crash on the keyboard. Better Than Chocolate is also a great movie. I don't need to say more about Star Wars and Fantasia2000 here. They are classics for me.
One word as a subject in a fMRI study. It's fun, free brain images of
myself is a plus, but tied up inside a confined tube staring at images
right in front of you for 3 hrs is not too great.
zzzz...z...zzz...zz
That's all for tonight.
