My New Year's resolution for 2003 is to start getting to work on time.
(For my department, that's by 9:30am. For most of the past year -- or more, probably -- I've been crawling in at anywhere from 9:40 to 10:00. My boss, although generally pretty lenient, is annoyed by this, and says pointedly from time to time, "I don't want this to become an issue..." It also means I rarely leave before 6pm, and often 6:30 or more.)
Yesterday's report: not so good. I tried really hard to get out of bed at 8, failed until 8:20; was 20 minutes late through the rest of my boot cycle, left the house at 9:35, arrived at 9:55. (We then had a 10:15 meeting in which my boss made further ominous noises about how ALL of us Must Be At Our Desks by 9:30, and also be back from lunch no later than 2pm. Urgh.)
Today's report: better! Out of the house at 9:15, got here by 9:35.
Tomorrow I see my therapist in Harvard Square from 8 to 9am. Thus, getting to MIT on time is never a problem on Wednesdays. :-)
