dentist

I had a dental cleaning this morning. I've been going at 3-month intervals for the last couple years. I've found it's a good investment in my teeth, especially since I'm the sort who does everything right and still has problems. My gums are doing quite well. I've been even more anal retentive than usual about my teeth in the last 5 months because I was warned about pregnancy gingivitis. They keep nagging me for x-rays. I wouldn't let them take any 3 months ago or today. I did change my September appointment to late October and said they could take them then.

I wasn't completely reclined, but after 10 minutes, I started to feel really dizzy. I thought I was going to pass out. Voices started sounding far away, and my field of vision was narrowing. I had three hygenists hovering over me to make sure I was OK, and they insisted I eat some of their crackers and grapes in case it was a blood sugar thing (although I had just eaten breakfast an hour earlier). I went outside to walk around for a bit, and when I returned, I was allowed to finish up the appointment sitting straight up but with my neck crooked back far enough. After that experience, I wasn't about to go in September.
