The next morning Fuu and Jin went off to find Mugen. Leaving Akane and Hideaki was hard, Fuu was really going to miss them, but she had to. She felt like a hug didn't say as much to either as she had wished she had said, but she didn't know what else to do. Akane handed Fuu a bag of asorted foods that were sure to last the two for at least a week ( Read more... )

Jin nodded, "Hmm." Was his usual response and he kept walking. It was nice to be on the road with Fuu again and soon perhaps with his only other friend Mugen. As they walked on, they passed a small vending spot and Jin stopped for a moment. He bought a stray hat for himself that covered the upper half os his face. They didn't need to attract anymore attention. Jin stayed silent for the rest of the trip until the sun began to set and they came to a small village. They walked up to a small budhist temple where Jin and Fuu prayed for a moment. They looked around for an inn and didn't see anything. They soon found a small barn near an abandoned house and Jin crossed his legs and leaned his sword against his shoulder. "You should get some rest. It's an even longer walk tomorrow and we will need to gather as much strength as we can."

Fuu didn't put up a fight, she was too sore. She'd fogotten how it felt to walk all day nonstop. She collapsed onto the floor and crossed her legs. She for once didn't try to talk, she just sat there, looking into space. She found herself thinking about Mugen again as she laid back. His crazy hair, those gorgeous eyes, that fuzz... Did he ever think about her too? Was he thinking about her right now? So many questions came to mind. She didn't sleep one moment that night with all the excitement running through her veins.

Jin stayed up most of the night and watched as Fuu lay with her eyes open. He half grinned and spoke, "Thinking of what may come will only disapoint you later. You will expect something to happen when it may not. Get some rest and we will start the day new and fresh, hoping to find our friend."

Fuu sighed but didn't look at Jin, she was too tiered. "You're right, but it's easier said than done." She smiled. "I've missed you guys so much, and being so close to being together with you both again... is just so exciting. But I guess you're right, I should try to sleep." Fuu closed her eyes but she was still wide awake. She didn't think that she would ever fall asleep tonight but she had to at least try.

Jin smiled as she faked going to sleep. He too was having a little trouble, but he would never admit it. He closed his eyes and crossed his arms as he started to drift off.

(( um thanks for letting me know we had started!))

Many miles away Mugen sat under a shelter, his thoughts drifting to his friends. Though he told himself it was becasue they might have had some money to pay for food. But in his heart he missed them.

With a grimace he continued to chew the lump of old bread he had swiped from an open window. The smell of fried eel and dumplings wafted through the air. Mugen threw the bread to the ground and followed the smell. He came to rest at the foot of a table stacked with food. A fat man turned and looked at him.. " be gone peasant you will recieve no scraps from us "..

A small smile spread a across Mugens face.

15 minutes later Mugen walked away from the table his arms laden with food and the men lay unconscious on the ground.
