Some rather disturbing and sad news reached me today. It looks as though the Watcher headquarters was destroyed by some sort of explosion. For the life of me I can not phathom who would do this or why. I suppose the answers will come eventually however for now all there is to do is leave for England and try to rebuild what remains. I put a call into to Wesley in Los Angeles requesting his assistance in this endeavor. I also asked Willow if she would be interested is lending her years of aiding the slayer to the efforts. She said she would discuss this with Tara and give me her answer shortly.
I am at a loss at how to explain to Buffy this is something that I must do. I do not wish to abandon her. Where I have every bit of confidence that she will manage quite nicely on her own here, I can not help but feel like we are leaving her to fend for herself. Quite truthfully I outlived my usefulness as her watcher a long time ago. Going to England, rebuilding the council. This is something I can do for the future generations of slayers and watcher. Perhaps weed out the undesirables like Hockins and the like.
I have decided to invite Anya to along with me. I am well aware it is more than one should ask, asking her to gine up the shop and her life her for what will be certainly a trying experience. I can not give her any garauntees on when we would be able to return. Perhaps she could lend her demon expertise to the cause. Quite honestly, I can not see doing this without my Anya. I have grown very fond of her and look forward to everyday when I can see her smiling face. I do hope she will say yes.
