Warped Tour '05
Everyone seems to be writing about their warped tour experiences and I thought I would too because it was actually a lot of fun. My first time at Warped was totally amazing besides the raining part.
So Kelsey and I slept over Kathleen's friday night so we would all be together the next morning. We woke up at 8am and got ready. Some of us took longer than others cough Kelsey cough just kidding. We went to go pick up Michael who almost left his house without the tickets. It was the smart thing to do. We got to the grounds at around 9:30 and got in a pretty long line. Then we saw Icon and her brother who skipped us and then more people came to skip us. We waited there for a pretty long time. When we finally got in we were scared that Kelsey wasn't going to make it for the rest of the day so we just took a rest and got ourselves something to drink. We all went to look at the times and then rested. After that we went to go see Relient K even though we had split up which wasn't a smart thing to do. We found each other and decided to head over to where Fall Out Boy was playing but it ended up being Senses Fail so we decided to go watch Motion City Soundtrack who sounded amazing live. We tried getting as close as possible and I ended up getting on top of a chair.
Motion City Soundtrack was over and we went back to the main stages where we saw some of My Chemical Romance. After that we went to walk around and get something to eat. We went to rest at the Myspace tent which was amazing because there was lots of shade. Kathleen and I went back to the AP tent where Motion City Soundtrack was signing and we each got our shirts that we had bought signed. They were such cool guys that they even signed something for Kelsey who was too tired to wait in the hott line. We told them that we had a friend who loved them and had had surgery and couldn't walk to their tent and they were like oh ok we'll sign it for her no problem. They even personalized it for her. That's love!
We went to go meet up with the rest of them (Kelsey, Michael and Jenna) and then we decided to go see The Starting Line who were pretty cool. I couldn't handle the heat any longer and I had to tell them that I had to go sit somewhere with shade before fainting or collapsing. Kelsey decided to join me and we were off to the Myspace tent. I really thought I was going to faint. They came back a few minutes later and we just stayed there. Kathleen and Jenna decided to go walk around and look at times. Kelsey, Michael and I stayed there. I decided to take a little nap. After all that we walked around, got some water and decided to go ahead and go to the main stage to get a good spot for Fall Out Boy but that didn't happen. Atreyu was playing before them and it got nasty up front. Everything was cool until the moshing started. Kathleen looked at me and I knew what the look meant. All of a sudden Kathleen gets pushed and the water she was holding got in my eye therefore I could not see shit. We had to get Kelsey out before someone hit her stomach. Kathleen and I teamed up and got her out. Michael and Jenna who had been very nice allllll day stayed to watch their band. We went off to the side where we met up with Icon and Margolis. I saw some dude come out of the crowd with a bloody nose and I was like je n'amie pas at all.
Before Fall Out Boy started to play it started lightning and I was kind of pissed because I would miss the show. Kathleen was scared and I know Michael was too. I didn't fucking care, I wanted to see Fall Out Boy. They started playing and I started singing and just acting crazy. But all of a sudden they started moshing and people body surfing. I had a dude like fall on my head because he came from behind therefore I couldn't see him coming. Michael and some other dudes there helped me get him off and threw him somewhere else. Then the moshing really started getting bad and Kathleen got separated from us. I knew I had to get Kelsey out and find Kathleen who was scared of the rain. I ended up walking through a mosh pit. Oh well it was the fastest way out. By then it was really raining and I was soaked. I looked for Kathleen and then came to find out that she was in a really good place and rocking out but me like a dumbass I thought she was scared shitless. That's what you call love, taking your just operated friend out and finding your "scared" friend, they better remember what I did for them. We all met up and they ended the show because of the lightning. I was pissed because I really wanted to see them. We went to the bathrooms for cover and then looked for Kelsey's parents. We were soaked, freezing and I was mad. After that we went home to our warm houses. It was an amazing day. Next time I'll body surf.
