This song served as my muse for this particular chapter:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0d-bSOzALY

Andy was sitting the food on the dining table when the buzzer alerted her that she had a visitor, "Hello"

"Andy, Miranda Priestly just arrived."

"Okay.  Joe you don't have to notify me just send her up in the future." Andy walked into the living room were the boys we playing Wii. "Gus Drew you need to go get cleaned up. Dinner will be served shortly."  Andy was nervous.  This is her first dinner with Miranda, since they were in L.A. for the Academy Awards two months ago.  There's a knock at the door just as she's placing the wine and juice on the table. "Hold on just a moment. I'm coming." she said opening the door to a flawlessly dressed Miranda.

"By all means move at a glacial pace, Andrea. You know how that thrills me."

"Hello Miranda." Andy replied taking Miranda's coat and hanging it in the nearby closet.  She tried to resist the urge to figet while watching Miranda's eyes scan the room.  "Would you like a tour while we wait for the boys to finish cleaning up?"

"As long as you promise not to overwhelm my senses with your poor taste."

Andy laughed then grabbed Miranda's left hand, "Don't worry, Mira. I hired professional help, and by gauging your response I will know if I got my money's worth."

*********

Approaching the final room, Andy's palms began to sweat. "And last but not least is my bedroom."

Entering the relatively large space, her attention was immediately pulled towards the antique canopy bed.  She was fascinated by the intricate carvings.

"It's from the late period of the Qing Dynasty." Andy said as she watched Miranda smoothly run her fingers along the frame.  This gesture reminded Andrea of her earlier days at Runway as Miranda's assistant.  She always admired her ability to take control of any setting.  She wondered where she'd be had she never stepped foot in Elias-Clark.   She was never one to dwell in the past, however lately she couldn't help contemplating the 'What Ifs'.  The questions were infinite.  What if I'd stayed home that night? Surely, I could have fought harder for us.  Why didn't I refuse to sign?  She thought that in time they would find their way back to each other, but time appears to be running out.  Two years have passed and Miranda's relationship with Michael seems to evolving into something other than a casual fling.  Perhaps the opportunity for reconciliation has passed.  She wasn't even certain if Miranda was still sexually attracted to her, let alone in love with her.  Crossing the room to lay down on the bed "Just for the sake of full disclosure, I have yet to create magic here."

"Really, Andrea?" she replied with a purr moving to sit on the bed.

"Nope. Would you like to help me christen it?"

Clearing her throat "And how you plan to convince me to do that?"

'Well she was definitely interested' licking her lips she said "I could do that thing with my tongue that you like".  Miranda's breath caught.  "What... you don't want to?" moving closer to her.  She was trying to be smooth, but her nerves were getting the best of her.  Where is the bottle of bourbon when you need it?

"It's not a matter of want. As you're well aware, acting on impulse can have terrible consequences." Miranda said trying to avoid Andrea's eyes.

If this was going to happen then she had to take control of the situation.  Andy was cognizant that Miranda's pride was perhaps here best and worst quality.  Reaching over to grab her hand, "You're insinuating that my actions lack thought. So it is my duty to remind you, I rarely think of anything else.  And contrary to popular belief I am not sleeping with anyone nor have I slept with anyone other than you for many many years." She leaned in and placed the softest kiss on her neck.

Trying to maintain control over her breathing "I...I...don't believe you."

Placing another kiss on her earlobe, "Why? Because you can't or you don't want to?"

"You made a fool of me."  She could feel Miranda's body tense.

Andy squeezed her hand tighter and looked Miranda directly in the eyes. "I know and I have apologized. But I couldn't...I wouldn't do what you and everybody else has accused me of."  Andrea was trying to keep her emotions in check, but to be honest she was tired of having this conversation.

She  looked at her willing Miranda to believe every word "Let me love you" she sofly kissed her on the lips "With all that I got."

Miranda deepened the kiss. She rolled Andrea over so she could straddle her "You think your smart don't you" she lowered her hand between Andrea's leg.

Andy ran her tongue over the bottom of Miranda's lips. "Let's do the things that lovers do."   She pulled at the string holding up Andrea's linen pants.

Miranda licked at Andy's neck. "Maybe..." she harshly sucked "One last time."

"Ahhh Mira" a hand slid underneath Miranda's blouse. "Why can't we just ....go back... to -"

"Never" she took a deep breath. "We can never go back." lowering her voice.  Miranda used her thigh to spread Andy's legs further apart "Andrea would you just shut up and let me fuck you."

Andy gathered all her strength and flipped Miranda over, "No that simply will not do." She squeezed Miranda's breast gently stroking her thumb over her nipple.  "Does he touch you like this?" unbuttoning her blouse "No, I am sure he doesn't." Lowering her head  to place soft kisses on her chest "I seriously doubt you'd be here if he was enough."

"Don't flatter yourself, Andrea. I seem to remember us going months without having sex." she said with a raised eyebrow.  Andrea had to bite her tongue. Hearing these words made her heart clinch.  She didn't want to be reminded of how Miranda had barely touched her towards the end of their marriage.  Masturbation was an all too frequent routine in her life.  She could no longer curb her sexual desires.  Even when Miranda was being...well Miranda she still found her irresistible.

The bedroom door swung open revealing two wide eyed twins. "What are you doing?"

They were both too startled by the sudden interruption to form a cohesive statement "Umm....ummm"

"Are you getting back together?" Andrew asked.

Ignoring their inquiry, Andy rolled off of Miranda and said "Let's go eat, shall we"

**********

To say dinner was awkward would be the understatement of the century. Luckily for Miranda and Andy, Andrew and Augustus had plenty of tales from school. Hearing about the recent developments at Dalton help to quickly pass the time.  They seemed to quickly forget about finding their parents in a compromising position. Either that or they were just waiting for another time to settle their curiosity, because they continued you look between Andy and Miranda with a bit of mischief in their gaze.

"So...If memory serves me correctly your Spring Break is three weeks from now?" Andy said picking over her salad.

"Yep. We can't wait!" Gus exclaimed.

"Have you decided what you want to do?"

"Nope.  But we definitely want to go somewhere near a beach" said Andrew.

"Well that shouldn't be difficult to accommodate.  If your mother agrees, I would like to take you to Spain.  We could spend the first two days in Barcelona and the rest of the week in Santanyi, Majorca."  Since returning home she had been planning the perfect trip for boys' vacation.

"That sounds lovely Andrea. Be sure to send the itinerary to my assistant." Miranda said taking another bite of her salmon.

"The salmon is not unpalatable."

"Thanks. I guess." turning her attention to the boys "Did you enjoy your meal?"

"Yeah. Thanks Mom it was great." the other twin chimed "The fish was really good. Did Serena show you how to cook this?"  Drew and Gus had been present at their weekly dinners a couple of times. Although she never said anything it was kind of their unspoken rule not to mention Serena.  Andy didn't want Miranda to get the wrong impression, because although they were no longer an item she knew Miranda would be none too pleased with this bit of information.

Miranda glanced in between the boys and Andy. "When did you learn to cook?" Miranda was shocked to find out in the beginning of their relationship that Andrea was a terrible cook for someone who was in a long-term relationship with a chef.

"I took a course after" waving her hand in the air "you know... After everything happened it served as an escape."

Miranda nodded in understanding to Andy's latest revelation.

"You know I could cook for you sometime."

"Maybe I will take you up on that offer." She turned her attention Andrew and Gus "Darlings if you are finish go get cleaned up. We have to leave soon. You have school tomorrow."  They quickly jumped up from the table leaving Miranda and Andy to clear the dishes.

*********

Pulling Miranda into a strange embrace Andy whispered "This was nice. It will take some time for us to learn how to be friends, but we'll get there. Right?"

"Right" pulling away from the hug.

"Okay guys give me a hug and kiss."  The boys immediately rushed into her arms.

"Now be sure to do some research and let me know of any cool places you would like to see while we're in Spain."

"We will Mom. Love you."

"Love you too." she opened the door to let them out "And I will see you soon."
