Have been flat out busy with work of late. Any time I'm not working is spent with a wonderful woman I meet about 3 weeks ago. Rachel leaves for a year in the U.K. early next week which will be very hard for the both of us. There is so much to tell. For now here are a couple of photos.
Firstly Stone Henge Aotearoa which we visite din the weekend. This is not a replica of the stone henge on Salisbury Plane in England, but rather a working monument inspired by one on the other side of the world. SHA is a large calender device and navigation tool amongst other things. It is situated in the Wairarapa, close to Caterton. Very well worth a visit if you are at all interested in Astronomy, ancient history, planetry science, the universe, Maori an Polynesian navigation, Maori legends, horoscopes and many other things!
Today Rachel who is a qualified midwife in the U.K. taught me how to put in a cannula line. This was quite something, firstly because of my fear of needles which extends to putting them in someone else not just having them put in myself. I was great to see the squirt of blood as the needle went into the vain. I felt woozy and was actually approching fainting, but mangaed to do everything right, including releasing the tourniquet before pulling the needle out. I did however have a brillant teacher/assistant/patinet. Although I feel quite proud about it I'm so not about to rush into any medical training, I just don't have the stomach for it.
