I really like the monkeys on this island; they are inveterate hoarders. I spent a lot of yesterday in the treetops and so I am now in possession of a number of useful items they've stolen from people in times past, including, but not limited to: an old lantern (unfortunately without oil, but I caught a few fish with it, and failing that, it could serve as storage or for bashing people over the head with), a pair of ancient false teeth carved out of mastodon tusk ivory, an entire silverware set, and a kazoo. I'm probably happiest about the kazoo.
I'm an early riser by most people's standards, but being awoken at 6:00 AM by a massive blanket of snow falling on top of you is not my idea of fun. Especially if you happened to have been outside sleeping on a tree branch at the time. Ow. At least the snow that knocked me out also cushioned my fall. Really not helping the bruises though.
It's been a while since I've seen this much snow, Italy's weather being what it is, so I spent the morning building igloos and making snow angels, scattered here and there. Some of them are a bit sturdier than others, but I'm rather happy with my work. Everyone is free to take advantage, but do be careful. Especially since one of them is already occupied.
There are such interesting animals on this island, as well. Certainly not as amazing as the chameleon back at the ship (he's apparently mine! Words are simply inadequate to describe how excited I am about this), but still.
I wonder...

Huh. How about that. I can definitely work with this.
Stay warm, Fujiko.
