Just a little closer to where I want to be

Jan 27, 2011 22:23

I got better grades for last term than I ever expected. And then spent a crazy month doing nothing except sleep, eat, and watch TV, not leaving the house once. I was too exhausted to read, too exhausted to even think. I did 0% of what I had planned to get done during this winter break, and I've been the lousiest of friends, on LJ as in real life. Real politicians wouldn't have so much trouble convincing themselves they are doing what's good for the people.

Youngest has all seasons of this show and devoured it, as well. I watched a bit of one or two episodes, well it's a TV show and has to exaggerate and make so darn much happen to its characters to make it interesting. I thought it was okay and a nice change from shoot-em-ups. I do agree with the above quote from your post. The few pols I've been in contact with are go-ahead, take-charge sorts with remarkable energy; the travel requirements alone would kill me.

How embarrassing that it took me almost two weeks to reply to comments this time. A record of busyness is what it is.

Yeah, most of them are. You've got to have a lot of energy and confidence to survive in that jungle.

the travel requirements alone would kill me.

I liked that part - getting to visit so many places, though it would have been nicer to actually have the time to look around. As it is, the 'travel' part of politics amounts to spending lots of time in cars, buses, and hotels.

Not that high on the boredom scale, all things considered. It could be worse.

God, give me patience.

*gives*

This sounds like an interesting month :) Also, there can be worse ways of spending free time than having a good laugh and interesting series to watch. Go you!

What are you taking this semester?

Two weeks without LJ - that's a personal record. This is horribly embarrassing.

I'm taking sociology, English literature, developmental psychology, and geopolitics. Only the latter is mildly interesting.

*HUGS* Missed you! And congrats on your grades!

I've watched some of the West Wing episodes, not all of the seasons though. And did you get the chance to watch the nightsisters episodes?
