I got better grades for last term than I ever expected. And then spent a crazy month doing nothing except sleep, eat, and watch TV, not leaving the house once. Youngest has all seasons of this show and devoured it, as well. I watched a bit of one or two episodes, well it's a TV show and has to exaggerate and make so darn much happen to its characters to make it interesting. I thought it was okay and a nice change from shoot-em-ups. I do agree with the above quote from your post. The few pols I've been in contact with are go-ahead, take-charge sorts with remarkable energy; the travel requirements alone would kill me.

Yeah, most of them are. You've got to have a lot of energy and confidence to survive in that jungle.

I liked that part - getting to visit so many places, though it would have been nicer to actually have the time to look around. As it is, the 'travel' part of politics amounts to spending lots of time in cars, buses, and hotels.

Not that high on the boredom scale, all things considered. It could be worse.

What are you taking this semester?

I'm taking sociology, English literature, developmental psychology, and geopolitics. Only the latter is mildly interesting.

I've watched some of the West Wing episodes, not all of the seasons though. And did you get the chance to watch the nightsisters episodes?
