Thanksgiving Break

So this year was definitely the most amusing Thanksgiving I have ever had! So, I decided it was silly to fly home for Thanksgiving when I was just going to turn around and fly home for Christmas two weeks later. Of course, that was before I spent 3 days in a hurricane shelter and we missed an entire week of school because of freaking hurricane Wilma. Anyway, so I called up my old buddy Christine Fox and gave her my sob story about not going home for break and she invited me to her house in Inverness, FL. So on Tuesday I drove up to USF and we went to Impact on campus and it was awesome!! Then we stayed at her apartment that night and drove to Inverness yesterday morning. We stopped by her highschool and then she showed me around her town and then headed to her house. So then we hung out here and then went to fight all of the other last minute shoppers at Publix. Then, of course, was the highlight of the entire evening: Watching Benji (her brother) attempting to make this chocolate cappuccino cheesecake. I'll put it to you this way, he broke a spatula! and the hand mixer, and most other appliances that he used. It was soooo funny! So then Christine, Becca, Sarah, and Jody went to the movies to see Rent. And can I just say that it was awesome!!! I was the only one that didn't cry, but it was still really moving.

Then today, we slept in late (as we didn't get home from the movie until 1am) and then watched the Macy's parade on TV. Afterwards, we helped Momma Fox prepare lunch and had our big Thanksgiving meal at like 2:00. Can I say that it was amazing! Oh my gosh, we had turkey, ham, corn, mashed potatoes, stuffing, yams, rolls, greenbean casserole, and everything else you would possibly want at Thanksgiving!! It was sooooo good. So then their friends came over and we all had dessert together and hung out and watched football and stuff. The next part was hilarious. Christine, Momma Fox, Benji and I all spent like and hour and a half sitting in the den on our computers in a chat room talking to each other and Josh (one of her other brothers). It was funny because we were all in the same room except for Josh, so he was missing out on everything that we were saying verbally, and half the time had no idea what we were talking about. And to finish off the conversation, I asked Benji to marry me, but he said no and it made me sad, but I got over it pretty quick, so it's all good.

To finish off turkey day, Christine and I went to wal-mart and bought $5.50 movies and little cardboard boxes that we decorated with sticky letter and flowers and funny phrases that we cut out of magazines. Becca wasn't here, but we made one for her too. Anyway, overall it has been a great Thanksgiving, and most definitely the most memorable Thanksgiving break I have ever had!!!
