hey everyone

Alison says that no one posts on Livejournal any more, so here I am to prove her wrong.

I've got a little less than 2 months to go, now; my flight is tentatively set for March 28th. I have plenty of things to do between now and then; Arcade Fire, for example, in two weeks. I've seen them twice before and I still want to see them again because they're so good live. Then, in about 5 weeks, Thomas and Lauren are coming over! Also, good ol' Dan Kinard is making plans to come over on the Ides of March, so overall I've got to say things are looking quite awesome for the next two months. Hell, even this weekend's lookin good. :)

The past week has been... unpleasant. Basically, I picked up the flu sometime around Monday or Tuesday, and both Wednesday and Thursday I felt tremendously awful. The school nurse took my temperature on Thursday morning and it was 38.8C. Now, I had no idea what that meant, but they were freaking out. (I pulled up an online temperature converter and it was about 102F. Yeah, I felt great.) So they carted me off to the doctor's, where I was diagnosed with influenza A. Fun. I got tons of pills, and I had Friday off. I have pretty much recovered, though there is still some coughing and quite a bit of snot. I had to cancel some of my weekend plans and delay others, which was lame. I got back to work on Monday, and they were leery of letting me teach classes even though I feel fine. What-everrrr. Anyway, I'd overall discourage people from catching the flu, it's not fun.

Things I'm looking forward to:
-driving
-playing with baby David
-beds that don't make me feel as if my tailbone has been crushed when I wake up
-Papa Johns Pizza
-seeing each and every one of you readers. Even the ones that live in other states. You guys can come to Georgia. It's cool.
