Is the rule that all the characters have to be from extinct shows? (crossover brain) I saw somebody say that somewhere, but it didn't seem clear to me from the the userinfo.

Nope, not at all; we've already had one crossover with SG-1 characters in. As long as the dead show is a significant player, go for it! :)
