Hi guys and girls! How has everyone been? Did you have a great start to the new year? Boy, I sure did and have many stories to tell! I'm going to do my best and make this short since this is my sims journal, but will ramble later over at my personal.
Canada was FANTASTIC; granted, I was there for what they labelled 'the worst winter in Canada' (I don't recall if it was over a span of years or if it was ever) but I loved every minute of it! I was there to see the remnants of the snowstorm, and even saw Niagara Falls frozen over! I have a few pictures for you just for the novelty! :3
Every morning I woke up to what you see in this image above. It was a beautiful sight, for someone who has never seen snow before. It brought a smile to my face every morning and I would look out the window in awe every time I noticed the snow falling.
I stayed in Pickering, Ontario, with my Uncle, Aunt and cousin (the cousin who's wedding I was a bridesmaid at). We visited the downtown Toronto area and was in awe of the ice skating here behind the Old City Town Hall! I felt the snow land on my hands and watched it melt in seconds. We get snow in Australia, yes, but not where I live!
Then, we took a family trip (with another one of my cousins and his family) to Niagara Falls! It was frozen at the bottom, but water was still rushing. It was a sight to behold, but it was also bloody freezing and it didn't help that it started raining! Alas, we didn't get to stay long due to the rush of tourists, but we managed to take in the local souvenir shops and walk past some interesting buildings (like Ripley's Museum, the Wax Museum and a couple Haunted Houses).
The Philippines was great as well, but the novelty wore off for me because I've been there about six times now. But I will say, that celebrating my cousin's wedding and my 19th birthday were two of the best memories from my holiday in the Philippines - the wedding was beautiful (even though the pastor was almost an hour late), and on my birthday, we went to the amusement park called Enchanted Kingdom. Because it was my birthday, I got free entry (I had to show ID of course)! The rest of my family got 10% off their entry fees too. I wore a special wristband and every time park personnel saw it, they would say to me, "Happy birthday, Ma'am" :3 It was quite an interesting day, especially hearing my cousins swear at the top of their lungs as we fell from the top of one of the rides. Turns out most of my family are afraid of heights! But they're not afraid of giving it a go :)
I have so much more to say! But most of all, I'm happy to be back (though I would prefer the cold to this heat) and have got back into gaming! My computer was upgraded (funded by my always generous granddad) to have 1.5TB memory, a six core processor and a new motherboard. Skyrim runs even better than the better it was before, and sims is so easy. I even went and pre-ordered Sims 4 (I'm crazy, I know!) and a no brainer for me was pre-ordering the Elder Scrolls Online.
I hope this year will be filled with lots of gaming, but alas, I start college on the 24th of February and because my course is fast tracked, I'll be cramming in many classes and hours of study into 8 months (if it weren't fast-tracked it would go for about a year and a half - so that's a lot crammed into 8 months). I'm hoping to use creating and sims as stress release, but it all depends on what happens. My first four subjects are English, Physics, Computer Studies and Maths. I'm excited for the first three, but not the last! Regardless, I'm around again and have some goodies lying around somewhere. I'll have them up when I figure out where I left them and I hope to have a couple of updates for my Sims 3 asylum up sometime this month (in between studying - if I can).
Hope you guys had a FANTASTIC end to last year, and a BRILLIANT start to this year! I can't wait to see what this year brings for us all :)
