It's a lavender coloured lobelia. I meant to plant the nasturtiums with dark blue lobelias, I think the colour goes better with orange shades, but must have misread the label and they came out lilac. I am not quite used to it yet but can't bear to tear them out so it'll have to stay mis-matched. The yellow nasturtiums go quite well with that colour though.

well, aren't purple and orange complimentary colors? I think so. They go fine together! Seeds are often mislabeled for color--it happens! Add to that the hybridizing that goes on, and there you are--color fluctuations. Thanks for clarifying.

I think blue and orange are complementary colours, purple is just a teensy bit "off" with orange, I think. But it's a very personal thing what goes with what, don't you think? I am not into totally colour-coordinated gardens (or homes for that matter), although it looks very tasteful it can be a bit .... dull?
Yes, you're right about mislabelling, had a few surprises this year. I've got TONS of pink flowers in my garden, not all of them deliberately! :)
