Tuesday morning March 19, I was driving sleepy. I ran a red light and collided with cross traffic. Luckily, blessedly, everyone involved was able to walk away from the accident. The passenger of the first vehicle I hit complained later in the day of a headache and went to her primary care physician to be checked out. But we believe I sustained the most severe injury - a broken arm.
Chalain wrote about the accident on his
blog and included photos.
I am so grateful that my broken arm was the worst injury; that my car insurance is taking care of the other drivers so quickly and kindly. I am grateful to Officer Bateman and the two paramedics who helped me. I am grateful to our neighbor and to my sister who provided taxi service when our second vehicle refused to start; to the ladies of our church congregation for bringing us dinners. And I'm especially grateful to my in-laws who came to provide moral support to both David and me the few days around my surgery, and gave us their car and bought themselves a newer one so we wouldn't have the expense of replacing mine. I also appreciate all those who sent their prayers and well wishes for my recovery. And I feel most especially blessed and grateful for Chalain who takes the best care of me.
The accident could have been so much worse. I truly believe that Heavenly Father was watching over me, and all those involved in the accident.
