The Party's Over

My company christmas party was last Friday, Dec. 1st. Being a member of the Employee Party Committee I helped prepare for the party. It was a very long day. I spent from 8:00-3:00 putting up decorations for all of our different rooms and helping to set up the dinner drawing prize give-aways. I got to leave for 1 1/2 hours to go home, change, feed our dog, collect Chalain and drive back. We waited for Laughing Stock to show up, found out they were stuck in traffic but they would be there for their first show. (We had asked them come early so they could go through the party dinner line but they didn't make it in time.) Laughing Stock did 7 half hour improv shows (with 15 minute breaks) from 6:30-11:30. Chalain and I hung out with them, made sure they had drinks and munchies and when the crowds were small we provided the audience participation. Laughing Stock's last show ended a little after 11:30. Most of the employee party goers had left by then so we started cleaning up the decorations in the empty rooms. We had to shoo people out of Vegas (gambling and raffle) and Nashville (karaoke) at midnight. Clean-up took a surprisingly short amount of time. We left for home about 12:15 am.

I think the party was a success. Employees were enjoying themselves. And I got to spend most of the night laughing at and with Laughing Stock and spending time with my sweetie. Plus I get paid for the whole thing.

And I get a 2 month reprieve before we start planning for the Employee Summer Party.
