APRIL FLOWERS FESTIVAL OF FIC AND ART

Thanks to those of you who submitted some wonderful prompts!  We now have a variety of prompts which we hope inspire some great work!

Now we are here to tell you more about how the April Flowers Festival will work.

There are 30 days in April so there 30 prompts!  The day’s prompt will be posted at or around 9am BST (as your mods are British!)  As soon as it’s posted you may start posting your work inspired by that day’s prompt.

You can interpret the prompts any way you like.  You can also combine as many of the prompts as you like to feed your muse!  The full list of prompts will be posted on 31st March to get your creative juices flowing!

There’s no need to sign-up for the Festival, posting will be open to all members so just post when and as you like.  If you haven’t participated in a challenge here before, just let us know so we can create you an appropriate tag.

Rules

1. Entries can only be posted to the community once the first prompt is posted on Friday 1st April 2011 until it is declared closed at midnight PST time on Sunday 8th May 2011.  Entries will not be accepted at any other time.

2. Each prompt must have been declared open before you can post work inspired by it.  Therefore on day 1 you can post work based on only prompt 1 but on day 30 you can post work based on any or all of the prompts.

3. There is no minimum or maximum length for fics.  If you want to write a drabble or several drabbles, a short ficlet, a monster 10k fic or a multi-chaptered epic, then feel free to go wherever the gods’ inspiration takes you!

4. While we accept submissions of any rating, those of a NC-17 rating or with strong themes will be accepted entirely at the discretion of the mods and warnings for content must be clearly marked in the headings.  The mods reserve the right to review all submissions for appropriateness.  If you are unsure of the rating or the appropriateness of your work for this community please contact the mods.

5. You are free to interpret the prompts any way you like and to create any kind of story including AU or crossovers.  However this is a Chalion community therefore the Chalion universe and Chalion characters must be the main focus of the work.  Therefore, you could, for example, have The Doctor visiting Chalion but you can’t have Cazaril visiting modern day England with The Doctor.

6. We will not tolerate plagiarism.  If it is discovered that work submitted to chalion_ibra is the work of another author or artist it will be deleted from the community.  The mods reserve the right to consider the banning of any member who is found to have plagiarised.

7. Please post your work using the following headers and place the body under a cut:

For writers:
Title:

Rating & Warnings:

Format & Word Count:
Summary:
Author’s Notes:

For artists

Please also tag your post with your writer or artist tag (which is writer: your username or artist: your username), challenge: april flowers festival, and the relevant genre tag (note that your mods are British so tags will always use the British spelling i.e. the humour tag includes the “u”).

8. We would be grateful if you don’t post your work elsewhere until the event is over on 8th May 2011.  You can, of course, post a link from your own journal.  When you do post your work elsewhere we would love it if you could include a mention that it was created for a chalion_ibra challenge and if possible a link to the community!

Any questions please leave them as a comment or contact the mods here.

Look out for the first prompt post on 1st April and go create!
