Macaroni and Cruise

Jan 09, 2015 10:02

I know I posted about the Macaroni and Cruise a couple months ago, so I thought I'd post an update in case anyone was tempted but thought it didn't have enough interesting things to do or was just a bit too expensive.

They've added a few people/activities to the line up. In addition to cool sounding indie kid's musicians that I hadn't heard of before, the Doubleclicks (who are awesome), and Nathan Sawaya (who does amazing things with Legos), they have also officially added Jonathan Coulton (who will do a kid-friendly daytime gig and less-kid-friendly late-night gig), cool science demonstrations/activities with Wondergy, and a demonstration of MakeyMakey which can turn almost anything into a musical instrument or game controller. I believe that there will also just generally be a game room and Lego building area available much of the time (in addition to the pools and standard kids activities on a cruise ship).

So, yeah, more cool stuff! Yay! They also got a few sponsors, so there is a $200 per person discount through the end of January or first 50 cabins (whichever comes first). For 3 people, that makes the total about $2000 for an inside room or $2200 for an outside room. For 4 people, that makes the total about $2600 inside or $2900 outside. Personally, I'm thinking of the $200 as going a good way towards making airfare included in the original price I agreed to :-)

In case the combo of more fun stuff and lower price tempts anyone, I wanted to make sure I let you know before the discount disappeared. The second deposit is due Jan 15, so that basically makes it a $500 per person deposit now with the rest due March 20th and May 22nd. Deposits are fully-refundable through Jan 27, $150/person cancellation fee before the March payment date, and $200/person cancellation fee before the May payment date.
