OK, I’m terrified, I admit it. I’m leaving my current job without technically having another job set up. I’ve got a plan. It’s a reasonable, sensible, thought-through plan. But nonetheless there is a possibility that I will get no work immediately and that would be exceptionally tricky. I’m scared. Possibly about to have a panic attack. Have ( Read more... )

Life is too short to spend it in a job you hate - you are doing the right thing by leaving. I'm sure something will turn up soon - and having a plan shows you're not stupid!

You certainly haven't been stupid - there's nothing wrong with leaving somewhere you don't want to be!

I did something similar, and thanks to the temp agency I had a short-term job within a week, and a permanent one within a month (at different places).

If you do find yourself short of cash, temping agencies are really good, as you don't have to accept anything they offer you, and you can work just a single week or two if you wanted.

You are not being stupid. The fact you have a plan shows this. You hate your job therefore leaving it is a good thing.

Scared is normal but you have a plan and it will all work out and there really isn't any point in staying in a job you don't like.
