I fear I must reprimand the Guardian in its coverage of the new Star Trek film, as it refers to Kirk as "a Captain straight out of Starfleet Academy". Shame on you, Guardian. Were Kirk straight out of Starfleet Academy, he would not be a captain, as any fule kno. Ensigns before captains, Guardian (and indeed lieutenants and commanders). Please do
