Title: Liberated
Spoilers: Quagmire
Rating: G
Notes: Just amusing myself with the "First Lines" challenge at xf drabble. This one is from The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler.

It was about eleven o'clock in the morning, mid-October, with the sun not shining and a look of hard wet rain in the clearness of the foothills. Mulder drove County Road 33 in Rigdon, Georgia, while Queequeg frisked in the back seat. When she awakened this morning, the day had stretched forth like a sentence, a surfeit of time, devoid of meaning. She was tasked with duties that had no reward save completion--walk the dog, clean out the refrigerator, pick up the dry cleaning. Then, his voice.  It quickened her pulse and aroused her curiosity.  It delivered her from solitude.
