only because i walked away from the interview yesterday afternoon a bit... disappointed. walked away thinking not only did i not care for this company that much but also i don't think they were all that impressed with me, either. just didn't get a good vibe. the first guy that i interviewed with was the president/coo of the company. from him, i actually got a great feeling. i think he was ready to offer me the position. or maybe that was my delusional mind taking off with something that wasn't really there. but, well, he was very impressed with my resume and we totally hit it off from the very beginning. the second guy happened to be the founder/ceo of the company and well, from the moment he walked in the conference room, his demeanor wasn't very friendly. he was more stand-offish and cool. he seemed rushed and well, he made me nervous. i think that's where i started sweating and maybe he noticed. i applied for the business analyst position at the company but they thought i was better suited for the program manager position. i wasn't complaining. either sounded great at the time. i was kinda turned off by their less than stellar working conditions, however. imagine about 20 people on three large tables, no cubicles mind you, and in a small room to boot! i felt like i was in some sweatshop. instead of sewing machines, they were working on flat screen monitors. (ok, the flat screen part was good.) engineers were crammed in another small conference room and so were the sales people across the way in another small room. the ceo explained that their working conditions minimized overhead costs... but um, hello, this is the silicon valley can we live it up a just a little? wall partitions aren't asking for much! uh, i was thinking... where would i be sitting? if there are no walls, how would i find time to post on lj and chat on yahoo im? that would be a travesty! anyway, i have an interview later in the week in sf... we'll see how that goes.
