We should do something to celebrate!

Oh, I only found out the dates a few days ago.

[a pause, eyebrow raise]

Oh! W-well... something you'd like to do, I guess. We could have a cake? Or a party...?

[Wataru looks thoughtful, nibbling his lower lip.]

How do you normally celebrate, Kikuchi-san?

[flattest expression ever!!!]

[Wataru blinks, before his expression softens slightly. He hadn't exactly celebrated too many birthdays before recently either. ...he'd really enjoyed it when he'd started, though.]

I see. ...well, is there anything you'd like to do?

[chairplay]

Wine. I want to drink wine.

[kamen_luthier]

[Wataru draws back a little at the intense look on Hiro's face, but he doesn't comment.]

All right, Kikuchi-san. We can do that, if you want.

[and that, as if a switch is flipped, facade goes up and smirk gets slapped on!]

[Wataru barely controls a flinch, soft, worried surprise clear on his face as Hiro's face shifts quickly.]

...do you want to meet somewhere in particular, Kikuchi-san? Wh-what kind of wine do you want?

[Hiro doesn't even give notice of the flinch, but he does see it and tucks the information somewhere in his brain]

What kind of wine does one normally drink on their birthdays?

[Gota was the one who wanted wine but hey, Hiro would drink in his honor]

Um. Well, there's champagne, I guess, if it's a celebration... but we could get whatever you want.

[Wataru just watches him, biting his lower lip.]

Hiro-san... are you all right?

[a confused expression]

... Why wouldn't I be, Wataru-san?

[Wataru flushes, realizing with some embarrassment that he'd called Hiro by his given name.]

[Wataru is still blushing, and he goes to shake his head again before he stops, chewing his lower lip.]
