Ha!

You know, a Cadillac with rims would be cool...but I wouldn't be able to park it here at my bat-cave.

I haven't updated in a while...sorry. The past few days have been hectic, what with classes, job interviews, homework, and fumbling attempts at a social life.

The classes? Fantasy Literature, Algebra, Intro to Mass Media, and Learning Methods. Fantasy literature is okay, as we just have to read some fantasy stories and endure boring lectures. I can do that. Hell, I can do that in spades. To be honest, I'm not terribly sure how he's going to make sure we're even reading the stories, considering that he seems to be against testing. If I just look busy, I should pass. Algebra is much more difficiult, simply because whenever I saw equations and numerics, I instantly think of puking on my desk and not stopping until somebody drowns. I hate math. Intro to Mass Media seems interesting enough...learning the ins and outs of certain types of mass media is fun, and intriguing, but to be honest, a lot of this shit is damned obvious. At least to me. One guy in the class vocally brought up his beleif that Gutenberg made the printing press within the last fifty years. Ignoring the long and proud tradition of printing press books before 1955, did he honestly beleive that humanity had just recently gotten the hang of moveable type? Hell, we had the atomic bomb up and running by 1945...anyway. Learning Methods might be interesting, I don't know...the first class, as I mentioned earlier, I was late for. And my alarm clock didn't ring on time for the second class...so I'm not terribly sure what's going on there.

But hey, on the upside, I might get a job! In fact, two! the first, and easier to relate, is the potential library job. I don't know if I mentioned this, but I applied there last year...with a reference section full of Librarians. Really, if all the people they were going to call and ask about me concerning my librarian potential were also librarians who would speak highly of me, you'd think I was in like Flynn gliding on lube. But no. Last semester, they didn't hire me. This time 'round, they are seeming a lot more hopeful, mentioning how they've been trying to get in touch with me for some time now. The interview went easily enough, and they told me they'd let me know by this afternoon. The other job is fund-raising here at the U...I'd call alumni and ask them for money, to be honest. The job is also promising, because the person who recommended me works there, so I'm already seen in a positive light. You know, writing out the details this way is boring.

Random details about each job:

Library pays minimum wage, once a month paycheck, and I'd only work tuesday and thursday afternoons.

Fundraising pays $6.50, I'd get a paycheck weekly, I'd work three days a week (after a semester, I can work two), and because nobody listens to telemarkters on certain days without rage and hatred, I'd always have the weekend off.

Both jobs mention that I'd always have the weekend off, in fact. Strangely, both jobs are complimentary in their hours and days. It's entirely possible that I could do both jobs. Entirely possible. Especially considering that they are all afternoon-late afternoon jobs. With weekends off.

End random job-ness

So yes. This is my life. I hope to make it interesting soon.
