[Anyone passing through the grocery store will find Naminé lurking about with a book in her hands.  There's a slip of paper that's apparently her grocery list placed carefully in the book like a bookmark.  She seems to be in the process of picking up a few things, but is consulting both her list and the book itself fairly regularly, which ( Read more... )

[This is also Peony's first time shopping for groceries. He sees Namine on one of the aisles and decides to approach her.]

Do you need help?

[She seemed a little bit startled by the unfamiliar voice, but recovered quickly and looked up at him.]

Help? Um....

[She looked down at the book and her list. Certainly she'd be able to find everything on her own, right...? Even if she wasn't quite sure she was getting the right things She couldn't just ask him that, though -- how would he know? And, anyway, even if he'd been the one to offer, she didn't want to be a burden.]

I... think I'll be okay. [She gave him a small but genuine smile.]

Are you sure? You look a bit lost, and this is my first time grocery shopping. Maybe we could help each other out?

Um...

[She glanced down at her list. Most of the stuff she could find, but... one of things she was especially curious about.]

...What's the difference between regular sugar and brown sugar? Do I really need to get both?

[Peony doesn't know what he's talking about. DON'T BELIEVE HIM.]

I think brown sugar is sweeter than the regular kind, so maybe you should get that.

[L-lawl, she doesn't know any better. Good thing she'll just follow the recipe anyway.]

Really? Hm....

But if they wrote the recipe that way, I guess they'd know what would taste better, if they have different tastes.

I should probably go with what the book says. Sorry...! But thank you for the advice.

Um, so, is there anything you need help with?

I'm going to be making stew! It's why I'm here today.

Oh, stew? What kind?

[...At least, she thought there was more than one kind of stew. Wasn't there? She wasn't even entirely certain what was in stew in the first place, but some second-hand memory lurking in the back of her mind said that the question was valid.]

[Peony has no idea either, so they can puzzle it out together.]

There's more than one kind of stew?

[Now that he thinks about it, the stew he has back home did have different tastes.]

U-uh--

[...Oops?]

[At least he looked as puzzled as she did.]

...I think so?

I mean, doesn't it depend on what you put in it?

Any kind of stew is fine with me, as long as it doesn't contain rappig meat!

[ooc: fff, not that fail]

[Naminé stared at the picture for a moment. It looked like a pig, but with... longer ears? Like a ra--]

[...Oh. Rappig. Rabbitpig.]

[Did those even exist? She'd most definitely never heard of it before. He seemed to think they did, at least, and although she wondered briefly if he was making fun of her, she gave him the benefit of the doubt.]

...Oh.

Well, um, I guess we'll-- just avoid anything that says it's rappig meat, then.
