LITERALLY HAD SUCH A GOOD TIME READING THROUGH YOUR COMMENT I AGREE SM ON LIKE. EVERYTHING & ALSO TBH I DIDNT EXPECT A REPLY ANY TIME SOON LET ALONE ONE WITH SI MUCH TO READ (I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT ITS A GOOD THING YOU WROTE LOTS I LOVED READING YOUR THOUGHTS)
the tragedy aspect of their relationship really is so compelling!! part of why i personally enjoy thinking about AUs where adam survives is because they simply couldn’t have happened but it’s so interesting to think what if they COULD! like you said there’s all this possibility for growth and genuine connection and healing between the two of them that simply is never going to happen but to think about what could have been…. makes me go insane in a good way

and YEAH i absolutely agree that a divorce is/was needed between lawrence and alison, their relationship was already close to breaking and i feel like the events of the movie, whether or not adam survives, would be the last straw. also there’s the fact that even though in my opinion lawrence and alison do on some level still love each other, lawrence is just . not a good husband! and it’s better for everyone involved if they divorce and it just makes sense. OH YEAH ALSO. LITERALLY OH MY GOD YEAH TO THE PART ABOUT ALISON GETTING DISRESPECTED/PUT ASIDE FOR “GETTING IN THE WAY” AND STUFF. i hate when that happens to characters so much god,,, and realistically, she wouldn’t be an antagonist in their relationship beyond like, a natural amount of resentment toward lawrence for the. many things he did wrong
- alsooo as a fellow enjoyer of realism and a slow burn i get that fr its so interesting to think about!! i haven’t read many saw fics in general on account of me being quite new to the fandom but the ones i have read that explore that aspect have been super interesting and enjoyable to read i’ve found

(side note: sorry if anything i wrote here doesn’t make any sense & that this is all kinda rambly i’m writing this at 1am 😭 and also i’m going a bit haywire in a good way at the opportunity to talk about them with someone who understands what i’m talking about lol,,)
